This past weekend, a Winnipeg man named Chris had his house tagged with homophobic slurs overnight. At such an important time in the fight for equality, it hurts to see that someone would do something as despicable as this attack.
CTV News Winnipeg covered the story of this attack here.
Yesterday, a group of AMAZING people volunteered their time to go and “Paint over the hate” by re-painting Chris’s house. These people are truly amazing and I think that we need to recognize them for being angels in the fight for equality. Let’s take a moment to thank each and every one of them. You are all amazing and thank you for taking time out of your day to help out another person in such a generous way. It makes me proud to say that I am from Winnipeg!
People like these volunteers are what make Winnipeg “One Great City.”
Check the video of their efforts:
Yay! Angels rock. I want to be one of the ones that kicks ass . . . homophobic ass, that is!
